Workshop on Mechanical and Acoustic Properties of Syntactic Foams
This two-day international focussed workshop is aimed at researchers studying this novel class of composite material, in order to discuss recent advances in the field and future perspectives.
The venue will be the newly built Crowne Plaza hotel, just off Oxford Road and on the main campus of the University of Manchester.
Thanks to funding from the EPSRC and UK Acoustics Network (see below) there is no registration fee for the event.
We are very pleased to announce that the following speakers will present plenary talks at the event:

- Oscar Lopez-Pamies, University of Illinois Urbana Champaign

- For those travelling by train, the closest station is Manchester Oxford Road, which is a short walk to the Crowne Plaza (15 mins). For those arriving at Manchester Piccadilly Station, it is a moderate walk to the Crowne Plaza (20 mins). It is also possible to walk from Piccadilly Station to Piccadilly Gardens (10 mins) and take a bus (numbers 41/42/142/143, all bus providers) to the stop outside the Kilburn Building on campus (20 mins total). For those travelling by car, a range of car parks are close to the venue, including the Aquatics Centre car park and also Booth Street West car park, right next to the hotel.
A PC will be available to present talks. Please bring all adapters if you wish to present via your own laptop!
